Backlighting and rim-lighting are among the most dramatic and exciting lighting effects.  I have tried to capture the translucency of the dried bracken and the wings of the Tiger Swallowtail when they are lit from behind.  I've experimented with a looser style of watercolour in the background, in order to more dramatically define the detail of the fern leaves.
