Fifty Dollars - Fine for
Littering
Medium: Giclée Print
Image Size: 23/4" x

Edition: 150 S/N
This is a reproduction giclée print of an original
watercolour painting which was created for a fundraising event by C.A.R.O.,
a division of CARFAC,
a legal representation organization for Canadian artists. The fundraiser
was called the "Make Your Own Money" event,
and every donated piece had to be the size and shape of a fifty dollar bill,
and include the words "fifty" or "fifty dollars" and "Canada" or "Canadian".
I really got into this project, taking many days to
get it just right. I had it framed beautifully, and took it to the CARO
office in Toronto, whereupon I discovered that the works were all meant to sell for
fifty dollars as well! ACK!
Having put so much time and effort into the creation of the piece, I figured
it made sense for me to buy back my own work (for fifty dollars of course!) whereupon
it
subsequently sold for a good deal more.
