This image is one that is being used as a fundraiser for the Tiny Trails Committee of Tiny Township. The trail used to be part of the main railway line between Georgian Bay and Toronto, and was used to transport lumber from farther up the shore to the southern markets.

Now the rails have been taken up and the railbed is used as a hiking trail, where people walk, jog, ride bikes and horses and walk their dogs. One afternoon last winter, I was out with my cousin and his son, their dog and my two dogs. It was my intention with this image to create a sense of then and now, using a ghost of the train and even a ghostly dog running alongside, superimposed on the modern-day use of the trail.

I managed to find an image of one of the trains that actually ran on the Tiny tracks. I believe its last run was in 1954, almost exactly 50 years ago, so there will be people around who still remember it. While talking with a gentleman who had been an engineer on "The Allandale Run", I discovered that the number on the engine is important to train buffs, so I've made sure it's legible.
