In the fall, when the surface temperature of the water is higher
than the temperature of the air, fog forms and lies above the
Bay. This happens most often overnight, as the air temperature
drops with the setting sun, and in the morning, everything
on or near the water is obscured. As the sun rises, it
burns off the mist, and gradually, like a veil being lifted,
the landscape magically appears. This white dawn happened
at Macy's Bay, near Honey Harbour on Georgian Bay, one morning
in September.
