I usually work in the studio from photographic references I've taken on-site.  This was one of the rare occasions when I worked "en pleine aire".  I was trying to loosen up, since my painting technique tends to be very detail oriented.

Something I hadn't considered until I had to deal with it, was how do you frame something that's so visually lopsided?  Oddly enough, when people see it, very often they don't even notice that it's so skewed.    Fortunately, I had a brilliant framer, who cut the mat in such a way as to balance the off-centre image with an equally off-centre mat.
