Cheeky is his appearance and cheeky is his nature.  Several times this little fellow ran up my pantleg to snatch the peanuts I had in my hand, stuffing his cheeks so full he looked as though he had a severe case of mumps.  He'll take them back to his burrow to stash away for lean times.
