I've always been fascinated by anachronism. Magritte
was a master at illusion in art, and Dali and the surrealists
were very exciting to me when I first began making
art. There are so many ways to introduce anachronism
in visual images...scale, seasonal, location and historical,
to mention just a few. With the public's increasing interest
in fantasy and science fiction art, there is more and
more anachronism being displayed. The challenge
for artists is not to make it too obvious, as this
image is. The best art makes you take a second
look and think for a moment that maybe it is possible
after all....
