Sometimes friends will send me photos that they think I'd like to paint.  Usually, they are not pictures that interest me, but occasionally, as with this one, the challenge of them intrigues me.  This kitten belongs to a friend of a friend, but the photograph was so interesting that I wanted to paint it.  The most difficult part was getting the criss-crossing stripes on the kitten's body just right.
