On the Rosseau Road near Bracebridge, there is a spot
where, in winter, water flows through and over the
rocks to form a huge frozen "seep". With
a struggle through waist-deep snow, it's possible to
get right up and inside this enormous ice formation.
I went in March, on a lovely sunny warm afternoon. As
I stood under the ice, with many tons of pointy sharp
things aimed directly at my head, I remembered that
late afternoon is the time of day when most of these
sculptures collapse. It
didn't.
