Spring brings out the wildflowers in abundance.  There is magic in the air, and blackflies, too.  To get the reference photos for this painting, I found myself sinking to my knees in ice-cold mud. Ugh! In May, Ontario wetlands are often carpeted in brilliant yellow, with Marsh Marigolds covering the surface of the water in shining coins of gold.
