When Piglet McFurPerson, aka Jessie the WonderDog was young, she was trained as a hunting retriever.  Like many young dogs, she would be wildly enthusiastic for a few minutes and then lose interest if she found something that had more appeal, such as a branch or a dead fish.  Her retrieving "dummy" has been abandoned in favour of a nice, chewy stick.  The question is, which of us was the dummy? The canvas-wrapped "duck", the dog, or the trainer?
